Feast of Tabernacles - Exodus 23:16, 34:22

The Feast of Tabernacles is yearly celebration holy to God. It is celebrated in the fall after the gathering of the main harvests. The Feast of Tabernacles is also known as the Feast of Ingathering (Exodus 23:16, 34:22).

Feast of Tabernacles - The Final Harvest

In Exodus the Feast of Tabernacles is presented as it fits into an overall schedule of holy celebrations that are organized into 3 main groups focused on the main harvest cycles:

  1. The Feast of Unleavened Bread
  2. The Feast of Harvest (also known as Pentecost)
  3. The Feast of Ingathering (also know as the Feast of Tabernacles)
These holy day celebrations also fit into an overall schedule or plan for God's plan for mankind.

From God's word we understand the gathering of the harvest in God's mind is primarily about the harvest of humanity. Jesus speaks in this manner (Matt 9:37-38, 13:30-39, Mark 4:29, John 4:35, Revelation 14:14-15). And following His lead... this is how we should view the meaning of the biblical holy days for us today.

The harvest of humanity likewise takes place in cycles. There is a small early harvest known as the firstfruits followed later by a much larger harvest.

The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates the large final harvest.
